May your life be filled with smiles and grace. Thanks for stopping by. :) This is where I ramble, stumble and have a good time. If you have something to say about my stumbles or my rambling go ahead and drop me a message. :) "It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult. -- Seneca." My blog will stay limited to 10 pages. I will prune it now and then when it grows too much :) ::Buddhist teaching - If you suffer, it is not because things are impermanent. It is because you believe things are permanent. When a flower dies, you don't suffer much, because you understand that flowers are impermanent.Aware of impermanence, you become positive, loving and wise. Impermanence is good news. Without impermanence, nothing would be possible. With impermanence, every door is open for change.::

Anger and Buddhism -- What Buddhism Teaches About Anger

"Anger is unpleasant but seductive. In this interview with Bill Moyer, Pema Chodron says that anger has a hook. There's something delicious about finding fault with something,¯ she said. Especially when our egos are involved (which is nearly always the case), we may protect our anger. We justify it and even feed it. Buddhism teaches that anger is never justified, however. Our practice is to cultivate metta, a loving kindness toward all beings that is free of selfish attachment. All beings¯ includes the guy who just cut you off at the exit ramp, the co-worker who takes credit for your ideas, and even someone close and trusted who betrays you. For this reason, when we become angry we must take great care not to act on our anger to hurt others. We must also take care not to hang on to our anger and give it a place to live and grow." I needed this teaching now. I was so angry with someone a little while ago. Anger is such a terrible poison and its enters our body so suddenly that we forget everything else and our mind focuses on acting on this anger. I am glad I managed not to act on this anger. But it still lingers inside and I wait for it to dissolve away into nothingness.

"Prayer to the Bodhisattva by Rabindranath Tagore Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain but for the heart to conquer it. Let me not look for allies in life's battlefield but to my own strength. Let me not crave in anxious fear to be saved but hope for patience to win my freedom. Sarvamangalam! Blessings to all!"
